No. 38 - The 73" French Bateau, Stainless Steel with Drain and Overflow

$10,495.00

Our inspiration for this beautiful French Bateau (Boat) style bathtub emanated from the original design by Rogeat and a few other European makers from around the 1880’s. Our version is wider and deeper and we produce this tub in two different sizes.

The French Bateau tub has a long bathing floor and ample width with exceptional depth to overflow.

This is our fabulous 73” Stainless Steel version. We use a high grade 304 stainless for the exteriors on the Stainless Steel Collection. The cast iron tub is left in its original form as it exits the mold and cleaned of any excess iron scale. We then finish the inside of the tub with thick, bright white enamel before completing the exterior. Onto the raw iron exterior, we apply twelve layers of molten 304 stainless steel. When we apply the stainless steel, it naturally settles slightly unevenly into the cast iron tub exterior.

The stainless steel is not a living finish and will not alter much in appearance over the course of its life. Any marks or stains can be easily removed with a soft, damp cloth.

This 73” version French Bateau is perfectly sized for larger, taller bathers and offers exceptional space for two bathers.

Stainless Steel

We use a high grade 304 stainless for the exteriors on the Stainless Steel Collection. The cast iron tub is left in its original form as it exits the mold and cleaned of any excess iron scale. When we apply the stainless steel which it naturally settles slightly unevenly into the cast iron tub exterior. We finish by sanding down the exterior before lightly polishing for a natural grey steel appearance. The stainless steel finish is muted relatively subdued and not highly polished like our other, more exotic finishes.

The stainless steel is not a living finish and will not alter much in appearance over the course of its life. Any marks or stains can be easily removed with a soft cloth and soapy water.
